Antonio back in Jakarta this 11th - 13th December 2015, and he will be cooking local dishes at the Pop Up Kitchen booth at Hero, Pondok Indah Mall 1. Of course as a good friend I pay a visit to meet him today. It's also fun to see him cooking some Indonesian dishes, isn't it !
From his last trip to Jakarta, Antonio inspired to make this Udang Balado ( Spicy Prawn ) and Tumis Kangkung ( Stirfried Morning Glory/ Water Spinach ) at the pop up kitchen. Antonio using Bertolli's Extra Light Olive Oil for his stir-fried dishes, and it tasted awesome !
The thing with Olive Oil, we all only know the Extra Virgin one isn't it. Usually we use it for our salads or even when we cook, because we think it's healthier. But, cooking with extra virgin olive oil is WRONG, since it had low smoke point, and the benefits will be gone! If you wanna do some cooking, you can opted for Extra Light Olive Oil, since it can be heated to high temperature.
Cooking with Bertolli's Extra Light Olive Oil also enhanced our dishes, and does not change the taste! Because not like Extra Virgin one, the Extra Light Olive Oil had mild taste of olive. So why not cooking with it since it's also had extra benefits to our body? Especially like us Indonesian, we all love those fried dishes isn't it!
