Jakarta : Food Tasting : Bruschetta at Borobudur Hotel

Borobudur Hotel was an iconic hotel here in Jakarta. With it's long and established reputations, this five stars hotel also offers great dining experiences, especially their legendary Sop Buntut from Bogor Cafe. That day I was invited to try their Italian restaurant, Bruschetta. I always love Italian food, so I'm definitely looking forward for a great lunch here.

Bruschetta interior was very classic with Mediterranean-Italian styles. The room feels airy, especially the one with the view of the green gardens. The most part of the space that I love is the open kitchen. The copper color was really the center of attention.

For starter they serve a complimentary breads and soup of the day. The soup was serve with petite bruschetta, since the restaurant also had the same name. The soup was a Broccoli soup, that tasted quite light.

And as the appetizer we had Caprese. This classic Italian dish consist of Mozzarella, tomatoes, with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, olive oil and basil. It was light and lifting the appetite ! But since I love mozzarella, I would want thicker slice of the cheese in this dish :p

And then, Fagotino Di Formaggio Di Capra Avolta in Bresaola Crocante Zucchini Saltati - IDR 58.000,-. This one is a goat cheese wrapped with bresaola. It was really good! Love the combo of the creamy goat cheese with the salty bresaola.

What's Italian food without pizza right? We opted for Margherita - IDR 98.000,-. This classic tomato, mozarella and basil pizza was simply delish! Even though I would want more crispy on the crust since it tasted slightly chewy.

For the pasta dish I opted for Gnocchi Di Patate Al Gorgonzola - IDR 98.000,-. Omg, I told you, this was superrrrrrrr yummy ! It's hard to find a good and freshly made Gnocchi in Jakarta, and now I got the answer for you all ! The Gnocchi was soooo fluffy and soft. The gorgonzola sauce was sooo creamy, and don't worry, the gorgonzola tasted quite mild in this dish. The walnuts on top add the crunch, and yeah gorgonzola and walnuts was match made in heaven !

For the mains, you can try this Brasato Di Manzo Al Vino Rosso Con Polenta Ai Funghi E Spinachi Al Aglio - IDR 228.000,-. This red wine braised beef was so tender ! It was served with creamy polenta which also tasted yummy!

For this month of October, Bruschetta serving Alaskan King Crab dish, so we opted for their Salmone con Crosta di Granchio, Patata Dolce e Zucchine, Salsa al Zafferano - IDR 248.000,-. The salmon was fresh and cooked perfectly with the crab crust. And I also love the sweet purple potato puree !

Save room for dessert! Because they had delish desserts here. Especially, Tiramisu - IDR 88.000,-. Love the mascarpone ! It was served cold, so it makes it more enjoyable.

And also, Banana Crema Bruciata - IDR 88.000,-. This one actually a banana creme brulee. It has a perfect crack on top, and it's creamy and sweet with banana flavor. Nice !

Borobudur Ice Tea - IDR 58.000,-

Overall, Bruschetta still serving a nice quality of Italian dishes here. And yes, I could say that they serve one of the best Gnocchi in Jakarta! Last words, thanks mba Indira, Chef Marco and Bruschetta for having me.
